Department and Services

RR Hospital & Research Centre is a Centre of Excellence for cardiac care. We offer end-to-end care in diagnostic, detection and treatment of heart. This includes stress tests, angiography, angioplasty, bypass, vascular surgeries and rehabilitation as well. Our cardiologists have performed thousands of angiographies and angioplasties since our inception - this includes intervention, balloon angioplasty and stenting. The success rate of the surgeries performed, stands at par with the best institutions in the world.

·    Four Operation Theatres.

·    20 bedded Intensive Care Unit with state of art equipments.

·    Complete range of Invasive and Interventional Cardiology

·    Best in class cardiac diagnostic equipment - Digital Flat Panel Cardiac Catheterisation Lab and Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging Lab.

·    Non-coronary interventions like peripheral angioplasties, device closures, implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators.

·    Vascular dissection and aneurysm repair are also conducted with covered stents.

·    Patient care supported by latest tests and procedures, drugs and interventions, active basic and clinical research programmes and CMEs.

·    Dynamic team of professional, nursing staff and paramedics.

·    1:1 nurse to patient ratio in ICUs.

·    Dedicated Cardiac Ambulance to take care of the patient during the Golden Hour.

Non-invasive cardiology

·    Stress Test

·    Stress Contrast Echo.

·    2D Echo Cardiograph

·    Holter Monitoring

·    Ambulatory B.P Monitoring

Invasive Cardiology

·     The Interventional Cardiology Department is manned by senior Cardiologists trained in India and abroad.

·     Coronary stenting is routine and performed by experienced invasive Cardiologists.

·    Non-coronary intervention deals with variety of cardiovascular abnormalities Subclavian, iliac, femoral and carotid artery balloon angioplasty and stenting are being performed.

·     Vascular dissection and aneurysm repair are also conducted with covered stents.

·     Patients with a hole in their heart are effectively treated by Button or Amplatzer's device or Coils.

The Golden Hour

Heart attack occurs when the blood flow to the heart muscle stops due to narrowing or blockage of arteries. The heart muscle starts to die within 30 minutes after it stops getting blood. That is why it is important to rush the patient to a hospital, which has a fully functional cardiac catheterization laboratory, during this 'Golden Hour'.

The cardiac team dissolves the clot using drugs and PAMI - Primary Angioplasty in Myocardial Infarction (Myocardial Infarction = heart attack) to restore the blood flow as soon as possible and keep the damage to the heart at the minimum. Here, a catheter (tube) is inserted through the blood vessels up to the heart to location of the clot, which is then sucked through a suction device and a stent is placed to re-establish the blood supply to the heart.

At RR Hospital & Research Centre, PAMI is the preferred modality of treatment in heart attack patients who reach us during the Golden Hour. Our expert team has performed this lifesaving procedure several times with clockwork precision.

Cardiac Surgery

·     CABG (Bypass Surgery) on the beating heart is performed without the use of a Heart Lung Machine and Total Arterial Revascularization is performed with mammary arteries.

·     Redo bypass surgeries are performed successfully by our expert surgical team with low risk.

·     Valve repair / replacement procedures.

·     Closed cardiac and thoracic operations.

·     Adult congenital heart surgeries.

·     Electrophysiology (EP): Ventricular tachycardia in patients of myocardial infarction (heart attack) could be fatal. These patients are investigated by EP study and if required, provided with Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) as a life saving device.

·     Multisite pacing for the patients of heart failure and Dilated Cardiomyopathy Preventative Cardiology.
