Trauma and Fractures
At RR Hospital & Research Centre, we are running the Golden Hour Project, which essentially delivers life saving and acute care when the patients need it the most i.e. in the 1st hour after the accident.
Our trauma surgeons work as a part of a team involving the general surgeons, neuro, plastic and vascular surgeons along with our intensivists, radiologists, physicians, anaesthesiologist and pain management specialist to deliver the state of art care to patients with multiple injuries.
• Treatment of all simple fractures and complex intra articular fractures, pelvic and acetabular injuries, dislocation
and fractures is carried out using the most recent and advanced techniques and implants.
• Post operative care includes rehabilitating the patient back in the community and is aimed at a rapid return to function
and prevention of disability.
• Treatment of non-unions and complications of fractures are also carried out at our centre by our trauma experts.
Age Related Ailments
As the body ages, some degenerative effects become noticeable. This includes reduction of calcium in bones that leads to osteoporosis. Here, the reduction of calcium makes the bones so soft that even a small fall or injury can lead to a cracked or broken bone. This usually occurs in senior citizens as well as women who have crossed menopause. Furthermore, these bones take more time to heal.
At RR Hospital & Research Centre, we treat such ailments with medication, physiotherapy and surgery to put the patients back on their feet.
When age related degeneration or injury gets too severe, the patient has to undergo replacement of the affected joint(s).
We have an experienced team of orthopaedic surgeons, anaesthesiologists, physical therapists and social workers who guide the patients from pre-surgery education through the post-surgery rehabilitation and recovery.
Our team of physicians includes Bone and Joint surgeons with fellowship training in total joint replacement surgery and visiting international faculty specialising in lower limb surgeries and total knee replacement.
We treat several conditions that affect the knee, including Meniscus Tears, Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries, Osteoarthritis, Ligament injuries, Kneecap (Patella) problems and Knee fractures.SignatureT Knee Replacement.
RR Hospital & Research Centre is one of the pioneers to offer SignatureT Knee Replacement in India. Here, MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) technology is utilised to create personalised positioning guides (similar to a plastic mould) for total knee replacement surgery.
The system creates custom-made femoral (thighbone) and tibial (shinbone) positioning guides that fit directly onto the patient's anatomy. These guides are developed from the patient's MRI with the help of a computer program.
Furthermore, the three-dimensional joint reconstruction enables the surgeons to plan total knee replacement even before the surgery, since they are relying on a 3D image instead of a two-dimensional X-ray. The 3D imaging along with personalised positioning guides gives detail and precision for implant position and alignment, reduces the traditional invasive instrumentation and offers quicker recovery.
